Scorched Pine Coffee Table
This table was made with texture as the forethought. The unique texture comes from the softer wood (grown in the spring) does not withstand the flames as well as the wood that grows later in the year (slower growth results in more dense wood). When the char is scraped off, you’re left with a truly unique texture than can only be achieved in this manor.
Aside from the texture, the wood becomes a beautiful black that turns into a near mahogany colour in the light. This makes this piece give off a different look depending on the time of day or even location.
