Furniture isn’t just an object, it can be a story.
I built seven tables for the Chef Zach Keeshig at Naagan Dining. His culinary art tells the story of Indigenous culture through food, and he wants every piece of his food and restaurant to reflect this.. including the tables. Using walnut, maple, and iron, I crafted live edge tables afixed to hand forged steel legs. The slabs became a canvas for an incredibly talented pyrographer to burn depictions of Indigenous staples into the wood. To continue the motif of use of and respect for the land, I integrated woods that the Chef would use in his work - sumac, grape vine, manitoba maple, and others and be found inlaid into the tables. Each table is unique and a statement to the core values of the Chef.
